How we write and check our guides
Thapki's guides answer practical questions for Indian pet families: where to find a low-cost vet, what government hospitals charge, how to register a dog, and how to travel with a pet. Every fact comes from a source we name on the page.
Where our facts come from
- Official sources first: municipal corporations, state animal husbandry departments, government and university vet hospitals, airlines, Indian Railways and registered NGOs.
- Every guide lists its sources and shows the date it was last checked.
- When sources disagree, or something isn't published anywhere, we say so under “What's unclear” instead of guessing.
How each page is made
We use AI tools to help find sources and draft the text. Every line is then checked against the sources listed on the page, and the Thapki team reads and approves each page before it goes live.
Keeping guides current
We re-check each guide at least every six months, and sooner when we learn that a rule or fee has changed. The “Last checked” date on the page tells you when.
Health information
- Our guides and our app never diagnose an illness or suggest a medicine or a dose.
- Where health comes up, we say what to watch for and when to call a vet.
- A page reviewed by a qualified veterinarian or trainer names the reviewer and their qualification. Other pages say they were checked against official sources.
Prices and clinics
- We publish a fee only when a government body or the clinic itself publishes it, with the year and the source.
- We never put crowd-reported prices next to a named clinic.
- Clinics can't pay to be listed or ranked. There are no ads or sponsored listings.
